How to stop procrastinating by channeling emotions into actions

How to stop procrastinating and start taking action? Many wonder: in life, in fact, it is not enough to know how things should work; it is necessary to act so that thoughts are transformed into concrete and tangible achievements (in another article I told you how you can turn your life around using the power of action).

There is a component that acts as a catalyst between knowledge and action, and that will allow you to stop procrastinating bridging the gap that often exists between good intentions and their effective implementation: yours emozioni.

Le emozioni They are no doubt the more powerful and influential forces that there are within us. Human beings are capable of carrying out the most heroic acts (but also the most barbaric ones) under their push. In a sense, human civilization itself progresses to the extent that  emotions are used intelligently.

How to stop procrastinating through 4 core emotions

There are 4 core emotions that can push people to act and stop procrastinating. Each of them or some of them together can determine the most incredible action. The day you allow these emozioni to power the desire to fulfill you will be the day the your life will begin to change.

Stop procrastinating through DECISION

Most people need to being cornered to make a decision. And when you get to this point it means you are at a crossroads; And It is therefore necessary to know how to manage the conflicting emotions inherent in the decision-making process. It is no coincidence that when we have to make a decision because now we can no longer postpone it, we feel a knot in the stomach, we fidget during the night or even cold sweat. These are completely natural emotional reactions: making important decisions - which can change our lives - can be compared to a kind of internal civil war. Armies of opposing emotions, each endowed with their own reasons, compete for the supremacy of our mind. This is because our decisions, bold or prudent, hasty or thoughtful, can direct our actions and our existence in one direction rather than the other. Obviously, every decision-making situation is different: therefore, there are no universal strategies: the only advice I can give you is not to stand there. You need to stop procrastinating. You have to decide! Believe me when I tell you that it is much better to make bad decisions than not to make any at all. It's important face your own inner turmoil e to bring order to one's moodsrather than avoiding them by postponing decisions.

Stop procrastinating through DESIRE

Desires can arise from within or they can be triggered by external forces. There are countless things that they can arouse a desire: it could be a song or a movie that touches the heartstrings. It could be a masterfully delivered sermon or a conversation with a friend. But even negative things instill desire: finding oneself in front of an enemy or living a bitter experience. The desire for revenge, in fact, pushes people to take action and stop procrastinating. Then indulge the desire and use it to propel you forward in your life: do not erect barriers to protect yourself from life experiences; rather live them! The walls that are erected out of fear of disappointment often keep away from our life even those experiences that could enrich us. Therefore desires and comes into contact with life (in another article I have already told you about the desire as an incentive that spurs victory).

Stop procrastinating through RESOLUTION

Resolve is that emotion that leads us to say with conviction and firmness: "I want it!". When we have one existential purpose which becomes a reason for living, there is nothing that can stop us. Nothing can be opposed to feeling of resolve supported by willpower. Stopping procrastinating also implies knowing how to focus on what you want without being intimidated by difficulties. A climber who intends to reach the top of a mountain just thinks that he wants to climb the mountain. He doesn't think it's too high, far, rocky, rough or challenging. When you are willing to do anything to achieve a goal - even to stake your future - you are driven by an emotion so intense and strong that everything becomes possible. But how can one become resolute? I think being steadfast means promising yourself that you will never give up. Others may doubt us, but we should never doubt our chances! Ask yourself the following question: "How long am I willing to work towards making my dreams come true?" I advise you to respond by telling yourself that you will work on it as long as necessary. So yes that you will become a steadfast person!

Stop procrastinating through DISGUST

The word "disgust" usually does not evoke positive images. However, if properly channeled, the emotion of disgust can prompt you to stop procrastinating. If you get disgusted with something, it means you are in one condition of necessary change: practically, you can't take it anymore. Have you ever said: “That's enough now!”? That's when you have enough try some truly overwhelming sensations. The day of "never again", "enough now" or "I've had enough" is the day your life will change: there is nothing more radical than disgust when it creeps into the depths of one's soul. Obviously, for this emotion to work it has to be intense: a mild disgust is useless. There are those who say: "I think I have had enough". It is a very unsettled statement! You see, there is no energy: this kind of emotion could not push even a paper boat into a bathtub!

We have seen that the emotions spur action and cause people to stop procrastinating. Action is what guarantees the result: sin fact, only actions can generate reactions. Therefore, to obtain positive reactions it is necessary to take positive actions. The whole world admires those who make things happen, and rewards them for their productive initiative. Having faith is certainly important, but by itself it is not enough: believing and not acting is a way to deceive yourself. It's like a sales manager who comes out of a meeting all excited saying he'll be the best in his business, but then doesn't follow the facts to his good intentions. What good would it do?

Then take action: now, not tomorrow! Use emotions to your advantage; channeling them correctly into constructive flows, you will learn to act and stop procrastinating.
