Lo apple strudel it is a sweet filling typical of the German-speaking countries and of Alto Adige. The traditional preparation of the strudel involves adding raisins, pine nuts and cinnamon to the apples.
For an alternative version, you can replace apples with pears, or raisins with chocolate chips.
Here are all the ingredients needed to prepare an excellent homemade apple strudel for 6-8 people.

Ingredients for the dough

1 or 2 mine
50 gr of raisins
15 grams of breadcrumbs
3 tablespoons of lemon juice
2 spoons of pine nuts
1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil (or butter)
1 tablespoon of whole brown sugar
1 tablespoon of chocolate chips
semi di papavero
1 pinch of cinnamon
Preparation
Sift the flour and pour it into a bowl. Add a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, a pinch of salt, a teaspoon of whole cane sugar and just enough warm water to obtain a smooth and homogeneous mixture. Work the ingredients vigorously, form the classic ball, place it in a bowl, cover with a cloth and let it rest in a warm place for 30 minutes.
Meantime prepare the filling of your apple strudel. Wash, peel and slice the apples in a thin way. Sprinkle them with the lemon juice and arrange them on a plate. If you want, flavor the apples with cinnamon. Toast the bread crumbs in a pan for a couple of minutes with a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil or butter. Stir with a wooden spoon.
Roll out the dough with a rolling pin. Form one very thin rectangular sheet. To facilitate the preparation of the strudel, place the pastry directly on the baking paper, before adding the filling.
Arrange the toasted breadcrumbs in the center of the pastry and add the apple cut into slices and sprinkled with lemon juice, the raisins soaked in water and then dried, the pine nuts, cinnamon, poppy seeds and also add a tablespoon of chocolate chips and one of whole cane sugar.
Brush the edges of the base with a little oil before joining them. Close the strudel with the help of parchment paper and brush the outside with extra virgin olive oil. If you don't loveraisin, you can replace it with a mix of chocolate chips and dried fruit or seeds (almonds, chopped hazelnuts, sunflower seeds…).
Gently and carefully transfer the apple strudel into one rectangular baking pan. Cook the apple strudel a 180 ° C for 35-40 minutes, until golden brown. Serve the homemade apple strudel as a snack or dessert. Garnish the strudel with poppy seeds (after cooking or before baking).
