Lamb for Easter: the call of the meteorologist that we should all listen to (VIDEO)

Let's save the lambs and choose one Cruelty-free Easter. It is really necessary to bring the lamb to the table for the Easter lunch to respect a questionable tradition? After all, we have left behind many traditions without problems and therefore also with regard to Easter we can act for change, choosing many delicious vegan recipes.

Here is the heart of the message that the meteorologist Paolo Sottocorna wanted to communicate to viewers during tempo forecast air on La7 on Monday 21 March. The meteorologist kindly invited the audience to reflect on the possibility of giving up lamb meat on Easter day.

Sottocorna showed a screenshot of Animal Equality's Save A Lamb campaign and made some personal considerations. "We should send greetings for a happy holiday to these lambs" - underlined Sottocorna.

The meteorologist invites you to inquire about the life of lambs and what unfortunately happens to these animals before they arrive on the tables of those who would like to eat them. Also remember that in classical Christian iconography the lamb is always alive. In his opinion it is necessary to start from this aspect to start having more sensitivity towards animals.

According to Animal Equality, it only took a few minutes of his time to allow the meteorologist to do something important for the animals and to save the lambs. Hundreds of thousands of people saw the weather forecast and listened to the roll call, or were able to watch the video on YouTube and on the Animal Equality Facebook page. According to the association, information is essential to be able to decide wisely.

For speaking in favor of the lambs live nationally, the meteorologist received the Hero to Animals award ("Hero of the Animals") of the PETA.

PETA reminds that every year in your country over 400 lambs are slaughtered in the weeks before Easter. These playful animals, not too different from dog puppies, which wag their tails when stroked, are killed at just 10 weeks of age. After undergoing painful mutilations such as castration and tail docking without anesthesia, the lambs endure long traumatic journeys in crowded trucks that lead to their premature and terrifying death.

“Mr. Sottocorona reminded us that celebrating a new life by eating a defenseless puppy is completely absurd. We hope that your call to reflect on the origins of our food will lead people to the beginning of a new tradition of delicious plant-based Easter celebrations "- explained the director of PETA, Mimi Bekhechi.

Paolo Sottocorna's message is an invitation to reflect on the living conditions of animals and our traditions, a message conveyed in kind words and in a calm, non-accusatory tone, just the way we like it.
