If you overdid it with aperitifs and junk food over the weekend, here is an emergency remedy (to be used no more than twice a month): a day dedicated to the "3 S" that helps you to cleanse the body and replenish vitamins and minerals.
«“S” come escarole, celery and sage: these foods ensure a deep detoxification that frees the body from metabolic waste. They also provide antioxidant substances that are useful to remedy excesses at the table ”, explains Sara Ciastellardi, nutritionist and homeopath in Pisa and Livorno.
- 1. Escarole
Escarole activates the excretion of bile, so it is ideal for promoting filter activity of the liver, fundamental excretory organ. In addition, it offers good doses of vitamins, especially C and A. Season it with flax or chia seeds: they contain mucilages that cleanse the colon.
- 2. Sage
Sage, with its essential oils, phenolic acids and flavanoids: it is diuretic, hypoglycemic and anti-inflammatory, therefore, allows you to counteract the inflammation caused by a diet rich in sugar.
- 3. Celery
The celery stalk has many fibers that stimulate transit and clean the intestines, but they are also excellent sweepers of the arteries. It is also rich in water, so it stimulates diuresis, and is remineralizing because it brings precious trace elements to the body such as manganese, potassium and iron.
