Ingredients

For the dough

  • 40 g of egg white
  • grated rind of untreated oranges
  • 20 g of bitter cocoa
  • 90 g of rolled oats
  • 10 g in inulina
  • 10 g of soy lecithin
  • 50 g of honey
  • 50 g of whey protein

for coverage

  • 30 g of rolled oats

Materials Needed

  • 1 large bowl
  • 1 stamp of plum cake
  • Film or parchment paper
  • 1 rolling pin (if needed)
  • 1 sharp knife
  • 1 bowl for oatmeal
  • 1 colander to sift the cocoa

Preparation

Making protein bars with your own hands is much easier than it sounds.

  1. In a bowl, combine the oat flakes, whey protein, soy lecithin, inulin, unsweetened cocoa and grated zest of an untreated orange. Mix well to mix all the "powders".
  2. Then add an egg white lightly beaten in a small bowl and the honey. Mix well, first with the help of a wooden spoon, then with your hands.

The advice OK
If the dough is too hard to work, you can add a tablespoon of soy milk to soften the mixture.

  1. Transfer the mixture thus obtained into a sheet of cling film or wrap it in baking paper (the dough should be slightly sticky). Enclosed in food paper, spread the mixture with your hands or with a rolling pin, until you get a rectangular shape, with a thickness of about 1,5 cm.

The advice OK
To facilitate the operation, it is possible to transfer the rectangle of mixture obtained in a plum-cake mold.

  1. Now it is therefore possible to proceed with the cutting of the "rectangle": with a sharp knife, cut many bars with a length of about 8 cm and a width of a couple of centimeters.
  2. Shape each bar with your hands and sprinkle them with oat flakes: this little trick, in addition to improving the appearance of the bar, makes it less sticky and easy to keep in the refrigerator.
  3. The bars can be stored in the refrigerator, enclosed in an airtight container, for 7-10 days.
