The simple things in life are like the stars that shine on cloudless nights. They are always there, surrounding us, offering their subtle magic; however, not every day we stop to look at them or remember that they exist.Only when we miss them, only when life throws us a small or big left-handed blow, do we suddenly appreciate what really edifies our heart, what constitutes each of these internal strings that give music and meaning to our existence.
There are those who say that the simpler our existence, the less worries we will have the fewer mistakes we make. Everyone is free to complicate life as he wishes, we all have the right to take some risks, to project dreams and to have a wide and varied social circle as we want.
The main thing, the key to this is not to lead a simple life, but to think simply and knowing what is important, what makes our hearts truly happy and what identifies us. From this, all of us are free to build our own particular microuniverses. We invite you to reflect on this.
Simple things are the greatest in life
There is a fact that attracts attention: Google some time ago published a ranking of the most common searches among users. Among them, the one that recurs the most is "how to be happy?"
We all have more than one thing that we would never change, even for the greatest of riches. The life of our children, our partner, our siblings and even our pets, because what they give us and we offer them is an exchange of love that is priceless.
The problem is that life, sometimes, is not easy at all. You know, for example, that the most important thing for you is your children, but you face a long day at work that prevents you from being with them as long as you want.
Of course, we would like everything to be easier and, for this reason, sometimes we feel lost in front of so many pressures, so many obligations that, day after day, distance us from what is true, essential. In this regard, it would be interesting to think about these aspects for a few moments.
Lead a full and conscious life
Leading a full and conscious life means knowing how to understand in what moment of our life we are and feel our present, the here and now.
- We must be aware of what our heart tells us and the needs that surround us. For example, perhaps working more hours gives you the opportunity to have more things, but you are aware that, despite everything, you would prefer to spend this time with your family.
- Living a full life also means understanding that every effort is worthwhile, because whatever you do makes you and your loved ones happy.
- If there is no reciprocity, there is no fullness. Observe your life as if it were a circle: if you do not have a balance with yourself and with what surrounds you, it will be difficult to enjoy this happiness.
The pleasure of simple things is an attitude
Not all people know how to enjoy the simple things that life offers them. Perhaps because they are unable to see them, others because they do not appreciate them and are more akin to material attachment, to immediate satisfaction, which does not last.
Enjoying the pleasure of simple things is an attitude that many cultivate if they already have adequate inner peace. Some people manage to enjoy simple things only after a long journey in which, suddenly, they discover pleasures they had not previously considered:
- True friendships.
- A good morning and an unexpected caress.
- The contagious laughter of a child.
- The intoxicating wind after the storm.
- The sun sinking into the ocean in absolute silence.
- Waking up on a Sunday without any worries.
