Do you miss the vocation? No work inspires you? Today you will discover that it is possible to be its creators. What are you waiting for to start it?

Are you convinced that the vocation is innate? Some people are certainly born with a skill kit that allows them to establish themselves in certain fields. Those who are born, for example, with a certain ease in transmitting information or concepts on a specific subject or those who are good at helping others to assimilate them could become an excellent teacher.
For some people, however, is it really impossible to find their vocation? The answer is no. As we will see in the following lines, this ability can also be learned. However, it is necessary to start from the question: what exactly is vocation?
We could define it as the inclination of an individual towards a specific profession. But the necessary skills are not always immediately available, in this case they must be acquired and developed.
Building the vocation
There are those who will not identify themselves in this situation. It may happen, for example, that people do not have the skills necessary to find their own vocation, those who have not lived in an environment that has favored them or those who do not have the opportunity to develop them. What happens in these cases? Are we destined to be unhappy in the workplace?
Maybe your current job doesn't excite you and what motivates you is the need for a salary. This can happen in any field, from those who work in cleaning, in an insurance agency or in telemarketing to the entrepreneur. Not loving what we do makes us feel unmotivated, unable to do our best. But all this can be changed.
"The tragedy is having no goal to achieve."
– Benjamin Mays-
One of the best ways to start defining your calling is improve your skills by attending a course or enrolling in a workshop. In some companies, incentives are provided to employees who want to improve in their work. The incentive can be represented by a salary increase, the prospect of a promotion or the offer of training paid by the company.
Sometimes feeling more professional and doing our job well can lead us to love it. Whether it is translating a text or serving customers at a restaurant table, the vocation can be shaped.
Feel proud of your work
This is another aspect that comes when you begin to perfect your skills and abilities. As we find ourselves more efficient, productive, even creative, we become proud of our business. Interest increases and we begin to forget that initial apathy.
When we manage to build our vocation, the positive consequence is that we will get an additional stimulus: recognition. Being appreciated by others will be nothing more than confirmation that we are getting closer to our goals.
“Vocation is the backbone of life”.
– Nietzsche –
It takes five minutes
Finding a vocation may not be an easy task. In these cases, the research work itself becomes a challenge. On the other hand, those with a “serial” vocation can skip this step, but will still have to train, perfect their skills and, at times, face selective tests (such as category exams) which can cause a lot of frustration.
Instead of throwing in the towel or repeating over and over "I won't make it", let's start spending five minutes a day figuring out how to improve our performance at work; to learn something new that allows us to aspire to a better position or, simply, to absorb information that helps us improve one of our skills.
Five minutes a day to devote to building our vocation is a possible goal. There are no excuses. And you, did you immediately understand your vocation or did you have to build it?
