Whenever I have an important decision to make, I stop abruptly, inhale all the air that enters my lungs and listen to my heart until I understand that it is prepared.
But that's not all: I don't just do it before making a decision, but also when sudden changes occur that mess everything up inside me, leaving me disoriented and out of place. Being ready presupposes for me a real process that will allow me to find emotional balance.
When we're ready, we've already half won.
Concentrate on the exit to reach the goal
When we are forced to make important decisions or to face a significant change, it is possible to identify two points of origin: on the one hand those that mark a point of inflection with respect to the past, on the other those on which our life of all will depend. days and, by inertia, our future.
As a rule, any abrupt change it implies the impossibility of establishing a margin of preparation in advance, preventing us from facing it in a prepared way; however, it is still possible to frame the change from the most objective point of view possible, preparing for the acceptance phase.
Probably the attempt to be objective in the face of something that oppresses us inside and that does not let us see clearly is one of the most difficult goals to achieve, and at the same time the one that will derive the greatest effectiveness and satisfaction if it is achieved.
However, this is not the case with decisions that depend on us, those that force us to face the person we want to be with others and with ourselves.
In these cases, we really have the luck of being able to take advantage of some time to sift through all the hypotheses, think about the consequences and take responsibility: time to focus on the exit.
The courage you need is within you
It is evident that to get to where I am now I have had to go through this process countless times, most of which has not been easy at all.
Yet no one ever said it would be easy; indeed, everything we have fought for in our life has required a great deal of personal effort to address.
I have learned: that if I believe it, I can do it, I can; that I know a lot more than I imagine; that I have the strength that I decide to possess; that there is no weight on my shoulders that I cannot bear, and that I can reach wherever my goals are.
Ultimately, the strongest feeling we can feel when we know that something will never be the same again is fear. It takes over our mind and affects us. However, you must know that fear will dissolve just when the abyss seems one step away from us, leaving room for courage.
In addition to fear, there is also a part of courage within each of us. It's just about find the strength to dare, to be braver to face every circumstance, and when that time comes, then we will be ready. We will have already won half.
The result is the ending
When you already have half the victory in your hands, the other part of our achievement will depend on the final result.
If we have had to deal with a change relative to the past, then we will have won: preparing and breathing is part of the process of overcoming and adapting.
If it is a decision, it does not necessarily go well, but this does not mean that you should be discouraged or despondent. Not everything depends on us and our efforts.
If in the end we were wrong, nothing happens: the error is human, just like each of us. Everything we are in the power to control comes down to our attitude, the ability to erase or not, to change or not, to continue being who we are.
Changes shape us, sink us or sustain us.
Being aware of what is happening or what could happen in order to prepare to face it is the first step to be able to say: “I did it, I was able to overcome it”.
The result is, absurdly, the least important aspect of the process, since the well-being we need is achieved throughout the entire journey.
“Our reward lies in the effort and not in the result. A total effort is a complete victory. "
